This bifurcation aims to create a more cutthroat and exclusive top tier, redefining what it means to be a "PGA Tour player."

Several radical rule changes accompany the new structure. Exemptions for major championship winners into the elite tier will be drastically reduced from five years to just two, forcing even the sport's biggest stars to maintain their current form. A high-stakes "Last Chance Series" in the fall will require players to compete in every event to earn one of only three spots back into the elite series. Furthermore, the plan creates a direct pipeline for top college talent via PGA Tour University, ensuring the next generation has a clear, albeit challenging, path to the top.
