Reed's Road Back Through Europe

While the golf world remains focused on the limbo state of many LIV Golf players, 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed has forged a different path. Instead of waiting for a political resolution or a special exemption, Reed has embarked on a calculated, merit-based quest to return to the PGA Tour by grinding through a full season on the DP World Tour.

After choosing not to re-sign with LIV, Reed set his sights on the DP World Tour's 'Race to Dubai' as his pathway back. The top 10 finishers not already exempt earn coveted PGA Tour cards, a system Reed fully embraces. 'The biggest thing for me at the start of the year...was to try to make my way back to the PGA Tour,' he stated, adding, 'I felt the method was to attempt playing our way on.' This approach is rooted in a simple philosophy: 'I'm a firm believer that if you earn your right to play somewhere you should be able to play, but you have to earn it.'

His performance has been a powerful statement. Reed has been a dominant force on the European circuit, securing impressive victories in Dubai and Qatar and a runner-up finish in Bahrain. This success has placed him among the top contenders in the Race to Dubai standings, often leading established stars like Rory McIlroy.

This demanding road is more than just a professional goal; it's a personal one. Reed emphasized that the journey 'meant a lot to me' and has been a 'huge year' for his family, humanizing a player often seen as polarizing. By choosing performance over politics, Patrick Reed is letting his clubs do the talking, writing a compelling narrative of grit and determination to reclaim his place among golf's elite.
